A fulfilled child's dream

Our story begins on one September day in 2016. We considered getting a puppy from a breeder or a shelter to help an unfortunate pup and give it a home. By coincidence we were near Strakonice where there was just one dog shelter therefore we went there to have a look. At first glance, we fell in love with a dark female crossbred of Pitbull terrier and Staffordshire terrier. She was emaciated and visibly disappointed with her previous owner and therefore very cautious. We took her for a walk and the joy that she could sniff all the green around the river could not be described. Upon returning to the shelter, we agreed to come back and on our way to Prague we discussed how to arrange ourselves to take her. Next weekend all three of us went to the new home in Prague. She quickly became accustomed and began to behave as if she had been with us forever. Our childhood dreams came true, having our own dog, our Maya.

Idea

After several weeks of co-existence, I decided to gradually adapt Maya to urban life in Prague. I wanted to stop in the city for a coffee or maybe have lunch and I came across ... "Sorry, dogs are not welcome." I did not mind, I went elsewhere but it was a pity that it was marked nowhere that dogs are not welcome. I went on, again and again the same reaction... And suddenly the answer was different "Well, sure! Come in, we love dogs!" Great, I can have lunch and coffee and Maya gets a bowl of water, that's another attitude. I say the same thing as before but with a different meaning: "It is a pity that you do not have it written anywhere that dogs are welcome." The waitress turned to me and said they had never thought about it like that. Upon leaving the place an idea was born in my head. After many days of research, thinking, musing and speculating I made the conclusion that it does make sense.

Realization

The first phase of the realization was a lot like a sci-fi movie but finally it became more realistic at the end of 2016. To create an application that would fulfill all my requirements and at the same time does not cost fortune – something very difficult to find. I do not know how to program on iOS or Android, and this is the basis for fun and simple apps. After a lot of debates and sleepless nights, light began to appear at the end of the tunnel. January 2017, we forget about the application, and this webpage is slowly coming to life with the help of Lukáš (top graphic designer) and Martin (programmer). In June 2017 our website is ready for a kick-off and I have no idea how it will go. I'm reaching out to first clients who can work with us. Interest is great, let´s rock it!

Purpose

I love my dog, it is a partner to me and a member of the family, not a toy. I like to go for walks with Maya and it does not matter whether it is in the woods or old streets of Prague´s Old Town. I also like to travel and I try to take Maya with me, but it is not always possible. And that is precisely why we have launched our project, creating a "map" of places where we are always welcome so we do not have to deal with alternatives. We carefully choose each place and spot and try it out ourselves to make sure you and your dog partner would feel great there and be properly looked after.
